About Us
We are a group of civic-minded people who enjoy volunteering in our local community and in the greater metropolitan area for the benefit of individuals and families.
History of the Walworth Lions Club
The Walworth Lions Club was chartered in May, 1972 with 33 members and one transfer. Our sponsoring club was the Penfield Lions Club. Over the years we have had over 100 members. Currently we have about 40 members.
In the 1970s the Walworth Lions Club met at the Walworth Gun Club; Bonnie Kowalski was our chef. Over the years we have met at Ontario Center Hotel, DeGravio’s, Blue Heron Country Club, Zion United Methodist Church, Log Cabin Restaurant, Carey Lake Restaurant, and now in the Lodge at Ginegaw Park.

What We Do
Walworth Lions Club is a club without geographic boundaries. We do work in Ontario, Williamson, Marion, Macedon and Rochester. We offer financial support for eyeglasses and eye exams, guide dog schools, environmental cleanup day, disaster relief, food pantries, senior citizens dinners, and other national and global causes. We raise money through our efforts in the Festival in the Park, tent rentals, an annual pasta dinner, breakfast with Santa, and other events.
Lions collect used eyeglasses and hearing aids. These are recycled for various purposes. This helps fulfill one of our global causes, environmentalism. We recycle about 1600 pairs of eyeglasses and several hundred hearing aids annually. This keeps them out of landfills.
